Further to our communication issued on 30 June 2026 regarding the Insurer Index Self-Service Enhancement and Printable Documents Versioning changes, we are pleased to confirm that the associated API changes are now available within the Integration environment and the Developers Portal.
Organisations can now access the specifications and commence development and testing activities in preparation for the future mandatory release.
As previously communicated, the changes being introduced are:
· A change to allow Compensators to maintain and amend their own entries on the Insurers Index.
· A change to improve versioning of printable documents.
Â
Additional development time allowed
Following feedback from users and software suppliers, we are providing additional time for organisations to develop, test and implement these changes.
Please note that the implementation originally planned for November 2026 has been deferred and will now become mandatory in February 2027.
Â
What this means for Compensators
All Compensators will need to create two new roles within their Claims Portal administration team:
· Insurer Index Manager – responsible for adding, updating and requesting the removal of entries from the Insurers Index via the Portal.
· Insurer Index Deletion Approver – responsible for approving requests to remove entries from the Insurers Index.
Â
What this means for Rest API Users and Software Houses
In relation to both enhancements:
· The API specifications and associated changes are now available within the Integration (Developers) Portal for development and testing.
· Organisations should ensure that development, testing and deployment activities are completed before the end of February 2027.
· The changes to printable documents and the getPrintableDocument method, previously communicated can be found here

If you have any questions regarding these enhancements, please contact us at ClaimsPortal@mib.org.uk.
Further communications will be issued as we move closer to implementation.
